Not sure what to say?

The best father a son could have. I love you dad!

Jerry was so kind to me when I joined the Thompson family. He always had a smile for me (and for everyone) and I will never forget how helpful he was to me at our daughter's wedding, when my own husband had been injured in a fall. As I read through the tributes, and hear family stories about him, I feel even more sad that my time in knowing him was relatively short (6+ years). I was hoping for many more years. But I know that he is at home with our Lord, resting in the arms of our loving...

Nancy, Scott & Greg,
What a life saving joy it was for me to have known Jerry. At the worst time of my life Jerry and you all took me into your lives and gave me the strength to carry on, eventhough you were going through some tough times also. The nights we spent on the Disciple Bible Study in your home were truely the closest to heaven here on this side of heaven. I owe so much to Jerry and you guys. I know that Jerry is resting in Jesus' arms and I pray that He comforts you all in...

Met Jerry on our Emmaus Weekend in 1991. He was always a ray of sunshine. Kothing seemed to bother him. We had some good talks together over the years. I knew he would always be there if I needed him. This year Kathy and I visited a church in Hilliard called Northwest Chapel. Knew noone there. We enter as the early church was ending. The doors open and there was Jerry with a smile and wanting a man's hug. God Bless you my friend. What a lost...

We had wonderful times at Our Savior here in Newton, IA. The Kastengren family was always at the center of things. I am saddened that Jerry has left this world, but as we all know, the sadness those of us left behind feel is far surpassed by the joy in Heaven when Jerry arrived home. Nancy, I have thought often of you and your family. I'm sorry that it has taken this news for me to contact you. May the Lord bless you with his Peace.

Jerry was a wonderful person. I will fondly recall his smile even when he was going thru difficult times. Wonderful remembrances of him in Disciple. Nancy my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family .

One of the kindest men I have ever known. My heart breaks for all those who knew him because all that knew him loved him. Will never forget his smile.

We were all so shocked and saddened to hear of Jerry's death. Our deepest sympathies to his entire family. Jeanette (Peck) Benson-Class of '69, Aurelia

Jerry touched so many lives, both young and old. I am so lucky to have been one of those and will remember him always.

Keep Smiling Jerry!!!!
