I first met Kim at the Ribeltad Vorden in 1969, shortly after he moved to San Francisco from New England.

After I quit my job as a PG&E meter reader in '72, Kim hooked me up with my first publishing job with the Bay Guardian. I've made my living in the magazine business ever since. I also met my wife Deena at one of Kim's great parties in Forest Knolls. The three of us worked together for years at the Yoga Journal where Kim was art director.

Kim could organize a party like few others. He put together a full day of fun for nearly 200 people for his fortieth birthday, There were two nationally known bands and other musicians who performed. Children of all ages, their parents and grandparents danced, ate grilled ribs, and barbecued oysters and the wine flowed freely. When he was seventeen he put together an ice skating party that included half of Portsmouth High School (New Hampshire) and college students home on Christmas...

Kims gentle ways will be misssed by us all and we will keep him in our hearts, even the fish will miss him! We love you Gumpy!
