I first met Kim at the Ribeltad Vorden in 1969, shortly after he moved to San Francisco from New England.
After I quit my job as a PG&E meter reader in '72, Kim hooked me up with my first publishing job with the Bay Guardian. I've made my living in the magazine business ever since. I also met my wife Deena at one of Kim's great parties in Forest Knolls. The three of us worked together for years at the Yoga Journal where Kim was art director.
That only begins to convey what Kim meant to me. For 39 years he was my best friend and I already miss him terribly.

We will miss our Gumpy because he was always so fun to torture. He always made us laugh ,yes even if he farted! Lov Skyler & Ari
I wish I had more time with my dad, i suppose its never enough when your loved ones dies. My life has giant void in it now with out him.Only he understood our humor, it was our own language. In my heart I hold his smiling eyes, his tolerant character and his wild spirit. I miss him already, he was so much of who I am. Such a great big man with such a great big heart. Indeed even the fishies will miss him.

Kim could organize a party like few others. He put together a full day of fun for nearly 200 people for his fortieth birthday, There were two nationally known bands and other musicians who performed. Children of all ages, their parents and grandparents danced, ate grilled ribs, and barbecued oysters and the wine flowed freely. When he was seventeen he put together an ice skating party that included half of Portsmouth High School (New Hampshire) and college students home on Christmas break. That party was talked about for years. When I attended my 40th high school reunion, it seemed my classmates asked about my brother before they asked me what I'd been doing over the years. Everybody loved kim. He was a load of fun. Jon
