Jeremy Minney Obituary

Jeremy J. Minney, 43, of Enfield and East Hartford, left this earth much too soon on his mother's birthday, May 10, 2017, with his loving family and friend by his side. Born in Hartford on February 13, 1974, son of the late Susan A. Viglione, he grew up in Newington, a place he fondly called home, and attended Newington and East Hartford High Schools. Jeremy truly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially warm, summer days at Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme. He had a passion for music including Bob Dylan, Tool, and the Grateful Dead. He was a Red Sox fan, an avid reader, and enjoyed listening to Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern. Jeremy, an "old soul", wise beyond his years, loved quiet moments watching the sunrise at the beach or sitting under the maple tree having philosophical discussions about the angels, stars, and the universe. He had the uncanny ability to "read" people and understand their heart and intentions. He was a great listener, had a unique sense of humor, and enjoyed sharing a good laugh with the people he loved. Jeremy is survived by his children, Tyler Harrison, of Enfield; Lexxi Johnson, Laine Minney, and Gavin Minney and their mother, Jessica Johnson of Mobile, Alabama. Besides his children, he leaves his best friend who was always there for him, Regina Harrison and their grand-daughter, Marzia of Enfield; his beloved aunt, Jean V. Walker "Aunt"; his devoted Godmother and cousin who loved him unconditionally, Debra W. Green and her children, Michelle, Patrick, and Benjamin; his cousins Edward G. Walker, his wife Sabrina, and their children, Ariel and Mason; Nancy Shasha and her children, Ava and Sari, all of East Hartford; Michael Walker, his fiancé, Maribel Chaudhry and his children Cameron and Damian of Corona, CA; David Walker, his wife Jackie, and their children, Colby, Cailey, and Courtney of Glastonbury; and his soulmate Jennifer Discenza of Newington. Besides his mother, Susan Viglione, Jeremy was predeceased by his grandparents Gennaro and Lucia Viglione. Jeremy also leaves many cousins, some especially close to his heart-Barbara Jean Primeau and her husband John; Michael Vernile and Maria Cassella. Family and friends may gather together on Wednesday, May 17 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at D'Esopo Funeral Home, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. Funeral services are Thursday, May 18 at 10:00 am, St. Christopher's Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Guests may arrive at 9:00 am to pay their respects. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff at St. Francis Hospital for the phenomenal care during the last weeks of Jeremy's life. Your genuine caring and compassion touched our hearts. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been created for Jeremy's children. Contributions may be made in his name to the Jeremy Minney Children's Memorial Fund c/o Webster Bank, 141 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT, 06033. Jeremy -You will forever be in the hearts of those who loved you. Peace and freedom are yours at last.
