Jerome A. Martin, age 93, of Hebron, passed away July 29, 2009. He was born July 27, 1916 in Limestone, ME to the late George and Mary (Cote) Martin. Jerry was raised by his grandmother, the late Elizabeth Cote. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth J. Martin of Caribou, ME; and niece, Silvia White of Caribou, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 DIRECTLY at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Chadwick and Rev. Derrick Dudash officiating. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 624 N. Main Street, Hebron, IN. Additional visitation at St. Andrew Church Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Jerry was a member of Monsignor Ryder Council #4047 (who will hold a rosary service at 7:00 p.m.) in Merrillville for 47 years. He was a member of Council's choral group, "The Sounds of Knights", a 3rd Degree member since 1945, a 4th Degree member since 1953 currently belonging to Santa Maria Venegas Assembly #2712, a member of the Elks Club and the Lions Club in Hebron. Jerry worked as a pipefitter and welder for 50 years for Pipefitters Union #597 and retired in 1982. Kuiper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (219) 923-7800.
