I met Jerry in 1980 and he cut my hair for the last 44 years. Even though I lived in Mt. Juliet and later in Lebanon, I would drive down to get a cut and visit for while. Jerry and I became good friends over those 44+ years. We last chatted over the Thanksgiving weekend when he called me and said he was retiring at the direction of his Doctor.
