Jerry Hammond

Jerry Hammond worked hard for the people of Columbus, and Columbus is the better for it. He was a legend in Black and a true warrior.

I would always as a child and as an adult admire Mr. Hammond. My father enjoyed when Mr. Hammond would come to hear him play some nights at one of the Jazz Clubs and then outdoor events

I can remember as a "preteen" of meeting the Hammond family. The very first opportunity I had back then was to babysit for Gerry. Throughout the years I learned so much about being involved in community events at such a very young age because of Jerry. I am so thankful for that today as I am still carrying out a part of his legacy.
