Not sure what to say?

He was one of my favorites. I still use a line he used to say in shop class about when someone wants to modify an engine or piece of equipment. He would say, "The good lord made it that way for a reason" I enjoyed being in his classes.

Dear Carol,

Bill and I are were so sorry to hear of the death of Jerry. He was a special teacher and friend to all of the LaFontaine Class of 1962. Also I am sure he remains in the heart of a lot of others in LaFontaine High School. Our comforting thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. You also will always be special to us. Dear Carol,

Though I never had the privilege of meeting Jerry in person, after reading the testimonies of the incredible impact he made in the lives of so many, I feel in a way that I have met him. What a wonderful man he must of been! You have been richly blessed.

I pray that God will comfort you and your family as only He can and help you to put your trust in Him.

Love,
Allison Adams

Jerry was not only a neighbor but a good friend as well. We are proud to say we knew him. We are saddened by the loss but the world was a better place because of him. Scot's tribute gave a wonderful picture of the kind of man Jerry was. May he Rest in Peace.

Wish I had known Jerry Shaw better. He sounds like an amazing man, and the tribute paid to him by his son was powerful, gut-wrenching. Scot Shaw showed us the man his father was in such a passionate way. We all dream of having what this father and son had: Real-life heroes, life-long friendship and eternal, unconditional love. Jerry must have been a special man. It's pretty obvious that all his good traits have been passed on to his son, Scot. His family is blessed to have him, too.

Dear Carol and family,
you are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
