Jerry Glenn Sparrow, age 77, husband of Susan Lynn Carey Sparrow, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.  Jerry was born November 28, 1947 in Spencer County, KY to the late James Ray Sparrow and Hattie Mae Goodlett Sparrow.


Jerry was a member of the Ninevah Christian Church and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. A member of the American Legion Post #34 and a life member of the Disabled American Legion. He retired from Wild Turkey Distillery after 34 years of employment and enjoyed wood working.  Jerry loved taking vacations especially to Florida, a good cup of coffee from Huddle House and taking care of all his many cats and dogs over his lifetime.  Jerry was a big supporter of the Anderson County High School Football and Basketball teams, attending the games as often as he could. Jerry had a strong Christian faith and a deep and lasting love for his wife and family.


Including his wife Susan, of 43 years, Jerry is survived by his sons, Coty Sparrow & wife Michelle of Lawrenceburg, Joshua Sparrow of Lawrenceburg and Brandon Sparrow & wife Jennifer of Shelbyville; and a grandson, Elijah Sparrow.


Including his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Kreschollek; his siblings, Joseph Harold “Joe” Sparrow, John Howard Sparrow, Jean Hope Sparrow; and a half brother, James Randle Goodlett.


Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Will Cooper officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at the Corinth Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 A.M. till time of the service.


Casket bearers will be Keegan Gay, Raymond Hart, Justin Keeling, Blake Taylor, Davis Boggess and Bobby Selch.


Honorary bearers will be members of the American Legion Post #34.


Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL  33126.
