One of my favorite teachers. Mr. Thompson made learning fun which means I actually learned and started to love things like Shakespeare. My favorite memory is when we watched MacBeth and he rewound the part where Lady MacBeth gets her head chopped off and he played it over and over and over again. To the Thompson family, Jerry was my teacher (DelTech, mid-80s vintage), a friend and a mentor. I will always carry a bit of his mental DNA with me for as long as I live... and I am proud to do so. He redefined grace, patience and understanding. Such a special man and one I am so glad I got to know. My sympathies for your loss, and prayers of strength, because deep down, you all know Crabmeat would not want you to cry... laugh? For sure, cry? Never. Warmest regards,

Chris, I'm so sorry to be just reading this. We'd missed you at Garden Club but had no idea he was ill. Besides loving his music, he was also my kids history teacher at one point. He'll be missed by many. My thoughts are with you and Janice.
