My beloved brother, my fondest memories of you are when we were children. When you were born, I couldn't wait to tell everyone at school about you. I had waited so long to have a brother. When you were about 5 – 6 years old, we had the most fun playing games like hide and seek. We enjoyed camping up at Old Creek Canyon. I'll never forget when we had to sleep in the same tent and you got gum stuck in my hair. Dad had to cut my hair with a fishing knife to get it out because we didn't have scissors at the camp site. When I went away to college, I know that made things hard for you. We grew apart as our lives went different directions.

When you became a husband and father, we began to have more in common and started to grow closer. You were an awesome uncle to my children and they will never forget the great things you've done for them.

As we grew older so did our parents. Mom was very sick last year. She was in and out of the hospital and caring for her brought us closer together. It was as though it was part of life's plan and meant to be. It gave us the opportunity to get to know each other again. We talked those late nights we watched over her when she was sick. I'll always remember that time in our lives when I was closest to you. Little did we know what life had planned for us and that you'd be leaving us soon after.

I miss you terribly. You made me feel safe from the world, like an older brother would. You were generous and put the needs of others before your own. This made you rich in love and friendship. Many didn't understand you because or your somewhat intimidating appearance but I know the real person that you are…
You are a great brother, son, father, grandfather, and uncle. We love you and will hold you forever in our hearts until the chain is linked again.

Love forever more,
Sister

Your Loving Family

The Broken Chain
We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

So very sorry for your loss. Any time a loved one is taken from us unexpectedly and so young, it is very difficult to comprehend and understand. Hopefully in time and after some healing takes place you will be able to joyfully remember the good times shared. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
