When my family moved to Simsbury in 1977, Jill and her family not only lived down the street but went to school with me. Although I was a grade ahead of her (and 21 month older than her) she forged a lifelong friendship with my family. I babysat her younger sister Kelly. Her brother Hutch, then 8, heard of my near drowning in 1980 and notified my parents before Simsbury Police causing a big scare in the neighborhood. We both went to college in New York. I to University of Rochester and Jill...

Jill lived across the street from me and we became friends talking with one another on my front porch. She loved animals, even the squirrels, that irritated me, because they would eat my bird food, no matter what I tried and the chipmunks that dug holes in my yard; she was like snow white with her animals. I loved her smile and positive attitude. I will miss her so very much. Rest In Peace my lovely beautiful neighbor.

I had the pleasure of sitting across the desk from Jill for 2 years at Hill-Rom. Her laugh and smile could pick me up in an instant on stressful days. I will carry those happy memories she created with me.
