Not sure what to say?

Always in our prayers and memories. Working the Disney window with you and those excursions to Pinckney Island were hysterically memorable. Your knowledge of everything in nature was a gift. Miss you buddy!

I can't believe it has been 8 years! You were my best friend in high school. You drew me to Savannah and Ossabaw Island. You showed me why Ossabaw was such a special place. I retired from Ohio and moved here. I had hoped to be able to enjoy your company for a while longer, but I have had the privilege to continue to enjoy Ossabaw and help out in a very small way. Thank you for your inspiration, your dedication, your sharp wit and mesmerizing stories.
I miss you my friend.
Brad

I lost track of the "boys"for a few years. They never left my heart. I would hear how Jim was loving the Island and I would miss our short times together,Jim was a great story teller and entertainer.Jim and Jack just were the best company. Recently Jim came to the mall...all who know Jim, know that him coming to town was a special thing ,but to the mall... He called me out and I got the BIGGEST hug,and in Jim fashion...time never moved. He looked happy and as always, made my day. I will always...

Jimmy lived his life to equal three lifetimes. I will miss him, pray for him and remember the great times always.
God bless, Jim.

What a shock. Working at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort was truly a pleasure and Jim's love of all things natural was evident in everything he did. He was one of a kind. I am so very sad to hear of his death. Kyle Wallace

Oh Jim. I don't cry for just anyone, you know. But people like you aren't supposed to die. Ever. It's been 15 years since we worked together on Hilton Head Island. I can still hear you laughing at some Mickey Mouse insanity that too often took place. Your spirit must live in the breeze, because I feel it even now in Greencastle Indiana. I wonder how many lives you actually did touch and leave your remarkable, infinite imprint on? Certainly mine...

I cannot believe that he died so young and with so much left to do for Ossabaw Island. Still, he did accomplish a great deal. We must all pitch in to ensure that the vision that he shared with Sandy West continues to be realized on Ossabaw Island.

He will surely be missed but never forgotten as his memory will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched with his true southern hospitality and love for life and Ossabaw.

It is difficult to express the feelings of first the shock and then the sadness with the news of Jim's passing. We, Peach and I, had just spent a few hours with him that week as he entertained and educated the tour group we had brought over a few days before. We had just spoke with him by phone on Saturday, planning the next visit. Now he is gone and we have yet to realize the loss we have suffered with his passing.
I'll go to the dock again and I don't know how I will handle the fact...
