Not sure what to say?

Jimmie Cates has been a class act during all of the 40 years my family and I have lived in American Fork. We will miss his warm smile and genuine zest for life. This was a better place because Jimmie was here.

Craig,Darrell,David,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Having read all the comments about your father is a tribute to you to know that you were raised by such an honorable man. May your treasured memories bring you comfort. Thanks for the years of your friendship at Garden Country.
Sincerely,
Leisa Gibbs

Dear Cates Family-
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Bishop Cates was one of the kindest men we ever encountered.

For more then 10 years Jimmy has been selling my family our cars. I've always enjoyed visiting with him when I was at the dealership. I always appreciated the way he took care of our needs. He would talk a lot about his grandkids and his family get togethers. I could tell he really loved his family. I'll miss seeing him at work but we know he is in good hands.

Although at times of sorrow there is so little words can say, I offer my hearfelt sympathy to your and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you today.

I am sorry that I cannot be there today. A fellow "Sweet Shop" friend,

Dear Utah Cates Family,
I am the oldest Cates left of our family.Jim & I grew up together. His dad, Uncle James, & my dad, Joe, were always very close. They worked in the oil fields & shipyards, always hard construction work. They made a good living for their families. I have so many special memories of Jim & Edna-growing up out in the country in Tx. Jim & I raised rabbits. They lives out on a prairie like place & when the animals dies, we always dressed up & put then in boxes & had...

I only met Jimmie in the last year as my council member. He was kind, and thoughtful, and generous with his time. Most of all, he clearly cared about the American Fork neighborhoods. I am truly grateful that American Fork City was touched by his leadership. To his family - thank you for sharing him with the community.

I am Virginia's Cates niece. Mr. Cates sold me my Durango. He was so kind to me. I swore to use him from now on whenever I needed a car. I'm so sorry for your loss. We love you Gini & Craig with all of our hearts.

jimmie was a true friend who influenced the lives of so many of us at the dealership. he will be missed by all who worked with him over the years for his genuine friendship, a quick wit and his tremendous example. i am blessed to have known him. my first thought at hearing of his passing was that he had time to prepare for it. but of all the people i know, he didnt need it, he lived prepared.
