There was one thing that I admired about Mr. James Roy Baker, and that he commanded respect, which was in demand when he took the band director post at U.S. Grant High School back in the autumn semester of 1976. He admired those students who were seriously into music, and he highly held in esteem those who were great examples of his students. Jim was an inspiration to all of us at SHCOG. His perseverance during the valleys of life demonstrated his immense faith in and love for his Lord.
