Longtime Marysville resident Joan "Joanie" Gilberta Barclay passed away at her winter home in Arizona on December 3, 2022.
Joan was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota on December 30, 1941, to Gilbert and Theresa Winje. She was raised in Granite Falls, Washington and met the love of her life, Dennis "Denny" Barclay in 1968. Denny and Joanie made their home in Marysville where they raised their two daughters, Denise and Vicki.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Denny, parents Gilbert Winje and Theresa Koerber and brothers-in-law Lowell Stauffer, Jerry Stilley and Jim Barclay. Joan is survived by her daughters Denise Yocom and Vicki (Brian) Dehnert, step-son Daniel Barclay, granddaughters Amanda, Sierra, Lynndsey and Peyton and great grandchildren Aryana, Axton, Vyncint, Oliver, Athens, and Magnolya as well as her siblings Arlene Stilley, Theresa Ann (Gordon) Seaburg, Lewis (Kim) Winje, Babe Winje and Gilbert Winje, sisters-in-law Ann (Dick) Salvadalena, Bonnie Barclay and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joanie loved with all of her heart, she was full of life and was always up for a good time. She spent the majority of the year in Washington where she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, family and lifelong friends and her winters in the sun playing with her friends at Ligurta Station.
A celebration of life is scheduled for January 7th at 1:00 pm at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville.

Joanie was one of the kindness person always had a smile and full of love. Her family was the most important thing to her and was full of love for all of them. May her and Denny be dancing and laughing. Thinking of all of you and may she rest in peace. Margie
