Joan Carter

I met Joan at a state park campground in west Texas in spring of 2006. She was with her beautiful dog Mica. On hearing my travel plans, she invited me to stay at her home in Morro Bay, on the CA coast, as I made my way north toward Seattle. What a gracious and humble soul she was, as well as a powerful activist.

Joan You were always, always, always, true to yourself and the many, many dogs who came your way. What could be better.

I volunteered with Joan at the Animal Shelter, what a gem. Truly a sweet and caring individual.

I miss you, Joan. You inspired me along with countless others to respect and protect animals, ourselves, and our planet.

We will honor the request to send “acerbic letters to republicans”so many to choose from. And will donate too an animal shelter. She obviously was a wonderful person.

We will miss you, you wild, wonderful woman, you! You’ve added so much to our lives. Always in our hearts and memories.
