Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Conant was my 4th grade teacher at Windover Elementary in Midland, 1975-1976. She was one of my favorite teachers. I remember all the hand made puzzles and games she had around the classroom. I believe her father made them. And I remember she talked about Argentina and taught us a little Spanish. I´ve thought about her from time to time.

My name is Rachel (Clark) Schieber and I was a 4th grade student of Mrs. Contact. She was one of my favorite teachers. I never forgot her kindness and love for her students. I have often wondered how she was doing throughout the years. She was a beautiful soul. May she rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to her family and dear friends.

Mrs. Conant inspired me as a 4th grade student back in 1986, and she still influences my teaching today. She brought "The Mixed-up Tales of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" , "A Wrinkle in Time", and "The Phantom Tollbooth" to life for us everyday after lunch. She gave us new cultural experiences, which were so important in our homogeneous little corner of town. She met each day with compassion, humor, and a deep caring for each of her students. She also helped me learn about setting my goals...

My name is Dixie Meekhof and I was a student of Mrs Conant´s back in 1984... Mrs. Conant was so loved by all of her student and will forever be in our hearts... We have such fond memories of hers as she talked about her memories of traveling and taught us about the different cultures in Argentina and Belgium... always vivid in our minds and forever in our hearts

Mrs. Conant was a remarkable lady. She made surenwe learned a new song every week and would sing them following thr pledge of allegiance. She taught us to play recorders, an instrument for those unfamiliar. She did plays, including Hans Brinker, or the silver skates. When doing well, we may get to play Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego on an Apple 2C, or possibly get a pull on the peanut machine. When I was in 4th grade with her, we had a student teacher Miss Howe. With them...

I loved her forever. She was my most favorite teacher of all and I remember her giving me her rag doll before we closed up the school. She was the best!

I student taught under Joan and she always carried a special place in my heart. She was an amazing person, teacher and mentor. Her laughter would permeate the halls of Chippewassee. She was a wonderful storyteller, teacher and friend. I adored just watching and listening to her whether it was in the classroom or in her home on Washington St. Rest in peace Mrs. Joan Conant.

Char, Sorry for your loss.

Joan was my daughter´s favorite teacher! What a remarkable teacher. She was gentle, encouraging and loving to all her students. She was a valued and respected at Chippewassee Elementary School. We will always remember her fondly.
