Family-Placed Obituary

LONGWORTH, Joan (Lisac) Age 78, of Dayton, passed away Friday, April 7, 2006 after a long illness. She was born in Homer City, PA and was a resident of Dayton for more than 55 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jesse and son Brian. She is survived by a brother, Joseph (Barbara) Lisac of New Kensington, PA; daughter Donna (Robert) Brown of Centerville, OH; sons Mark (Marcia Eaglin) of Moylan-Rose Valley, PA and Damon of Kettering, OH; daughter Paula Childers, of Kettering, OH and seven grandchildren, Mason Cyrus, Joanna Brown, Preston Childers, Mark Brown, Nicholas Longworth, Christopher Longworth and Katherine Brown. Joan was an employee of the Westward Ho Cafeteria and more recently, until her illness in the fall, was a dedicated employee of the University of Dayton, where she had many wonderful friends and colleagues, and so lovingly took care of the many students who went through her lunch line daily. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the University of Dayton Chapel, Fr. Gerald Chinchar, Celebrant. Interment Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Friends and family may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave. Contributions may be made in memory of Joan Longworth to the University of Dayton, Campus Ministry, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469-0408.

Joan was neighbor of my grandmothers for many years, and I remember ever since I was little how she used to wear her hair, and recently living down the street from her, how she used to walk that little dog. My prayers are with you all now.

when i first started at ud joanie was the first person i talked to the first thing she asked me was did i smoke and if i wanted to go out for a cigarette. I'll never forget that day or any other day that i got to spend with her i will miss her. She was a very special little lady and full of spunk. We will always hold on to the memories that we have of her in our minds and in our hearts. bye joanie we will miss you
