I'm so sorry to hear this. I loved Joan dearly. She and her family always treated me like family and were like family to me throughout highschool. May her soul test in the peace that she deserves.

I'm so sorry to hear about this! Joan and the Mooney family were like my own family throughout High School. Joan was always so welcoming and kind-hearted to me and to everyone else. Leonard Berstein was quoted as having said that the hardest instrument to play in the orchestra was "2nd Fiddle". Mrs. Mooney was the best assistant (2nd Fiddle) anyone could ever hope for. No matter what the original plan had been for the day, when she walked in the door and I told her what I had decided for her to do, with a smile, she would respond "whatever you want me to do, Mr. Bantz". Mrs. Mooney was such a wonderful teacher, player and person. I can barely remember a time that she didn't have a smile on her face. Even when she had to be strict she did it in a loving manner. I know that she suffered a lot and while I know her family and the entire music community in South Florida will miss her, we of faith know that she is at peace resting with her Lord.
