I'm so sorry to hear about this! Joan and the Mooney family were like my own family throughout High School. Joan was always so welcoming and kind-hearted to me and to everyone else. My heart goes out to each every one of her family members. Attention Paul: if you are reading this. This is Dan Krochta from Zion Lutheran. Please feel free to get ahold of me at anytime. It would be really great to hear from you and to do some catching up. I'm sorry to send this message here but it's the only way that I haven't been able to find it to get ahold of you so far. My phone number is: 954-673-5597 You can feel free to call anytime! Please leave a text message if I do not pick up. As I don't always pick up numbers that I do not recognize. I really hope is that you or someone reads this and that I hear from you sometime in the not-too-distant future. Can you believe it has already been 25 years?!?! Anyway. I hope that Jones entire family is doing well. Blessings to you all!!!

Leonard Berstein was quoted as having said that the hardest instrument to play in the orchestra was "2nd Fiddle". Mrs. Mooney was the best assistant (2nd Fiddle) anyone could ever hope for. No matter what the original plan had been for the day, when she walked in the door and I told her what I had decided for her to do, with a smile, she would respond "whatever you want me to do, Mr. Bantz". She was an inspiration to so, so many. She never complained, when asked how she was feeling she always said "I'm fine". When she took a group into the teaching room, the door would not open until they had successfully learned all they were
to work on, no matter how long it took. She was a dear saint, and I, as do many others, miss her very much.

Mrs. Mooney was such a wonderful teacher, player and person. I can barely remember a time that she didn't have a smile on her face. Even when she had to be strict she did it in a loving manner. I know that she suffered a lot and while I know her family and the entire music community in South Florida will miss her, we of faith know that she is at peace resting with her Lord. I count myself lucky to have had her as a teacher and extend my condolences and sympathies to Mr. Mooney, Paul and the rest of the family.
