Not sure what to say?

Dear Skip, Doug, Beth and family, We are hoping you find comfort in all of the wonderful shared memories of your mother. Aunt Joan was a remarkable woman, and a true bright light in our family. We loved visiting with her over the years, and she was always so welcoming. She always found time to offer an iced tea and a chat on the front porch, overlooking beautiful Lake George. We loved hearing her talk about her artwork, her latest hiking adventure or rare bird that she happened to spot. She...

Group of 10 Memorial Trees

My fondest memories of my sweet Aunt Joan was her bubbly personality. When I was young she had a tree in her front yard, that she would put candy kisses under, to have us think the tree dropped candy kisses. Also, I always remember the last lunch myself, my son and daughter had with Aunt Joan and Uncle Hammond many years ago, on their front porch looking out a Lake George. I will always save a special place in my heart for both of them.

I was very fortunate to know our wonderful neighbor Joan, first visiting her beautiful home for Audubon meetings, then later just visiting her. Her own paintings showed just one aspect of her many talents. Joan and I car-pooled to watercolor classes at the Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. With her years of experience on the Lake George Park Commission and other work for Lake George protection (if I recall, she was responsible for Girl Scouts planting trees along West Brook), she advised and...

Joan was a bright light in this world. My fondest memories with Joan are when she would show me her beautiful paintings and her pine needle baskets. Her love of nature and art was so palpable that you couldn´t help but share in her joy. With love and sympathy, Lauren (Nicholson)

Joan was an incredible woman who devoted her life to caring and supporting others. It was an honor to work with Her as a founder/member of The Everywoman's Council. How fortunate we were to have a friend like Joan. Deepest condolences to her family.

I will never forget Miss joan! I will always remember how connected she was in the Lake George area. I will never forget how fervent she was about supporting the local artists and the arts. Much love to her family as well. She will be missed.

I will miss Joan. She was a staple part of Cleverdale, and knew a lot of things about a lot of things. Some called her the mayor of Cleverdale. We were honored to know her and Ham.. Pris and David Sanderspree

My sincere condolences to Joan's family and her many, many friends. We were active in the Audubon Society years ago and she was a joy to spend time with. She taught me a great deal about the bird species that can be seen in and around Warren county. Rest in peace, Joan.
