Joan was a dear friend for over 30 years. I have great memories of her attending the parties in our NYC apartment. She would be the social butterfly while Carlo would sit at the door, welcoming every guest as if he were the mayor. Joan loved Weston Priory and I remember the times she and Mary Dunleavy, her dear friend who died four days after Joan, would sit by the fireplace and watch the snow fall.
