Dear Denby, Jack and Rick,

Last Christmastime was happier because of a call from Joanie and Denby. How nice. It brought back memories of meeting Joanie for the first time when she and Fritz came bounding down the hill at my mother's cabin at Side Lake. We were friends for life right then and there. I miss you, Joanie, and will continue our friendship through the children. See you this summer at ole Side Lake.
With love,

Love always. Your humor and insight will be missed and I'll always remember such good conversation and laughter while playing Hearts in Steep Creek. It healed my heart to see you by Pappy's side when he needed it and you embraced new family without any qualms. Those are some of my happiest memories.

My thoughts and prayers go to the family. Joan is with her heavenly family. Until we meet again.

Oh Joanie! I will always carry your strength and tenacity with me. You will always be one of the special ones! The ones whose impression never leaves. You were loved by so many and your legacy lives on. In love and memories-

Erin, Eddie, Raleigh, and Jake
