JoAnne Tiffany Obituary

JoAnne McWhorter Tiffany

Denver, CO

JoAnne McWhorter Tiffany, 83, passed away January 12, 2019. Born April 2, 1935 in Denver, CO, the

daughter of Genevieve and Cedric McWhorter. Jody graduated from Hinsdale Township HS and attended University of Colorado at Boulder and Monmouth College before her

marriage to Robert (Bob) Newton

Tiffany in 1956.

Jody met Bob at a Hinsdale Golf Club dance and quickly captured his heart. They married on July 28, 1956. Jody settled into her role as wife, homemaker and mother, with the birth of the first of four children. In 1971, the Tiffanys moved from Hinsdale, IL to Naples, FL, when Bob and Jody assumed ownership of Naples Floor Coverings, Inc.

Jody was a tireless volunteer with Project Hope, Girl Scouts and Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church, just to name a few. As the years passed, Jody accepted many roles and positions at Trinity-by-the-Cove including choir

member, Vestry member, Contemplative Prayer Group

member, Christian Formation teacher, Chalice bearer, lay reader, Altar Guild, Episcopal Relief and Development for the Diocese, Cursillo and Daughters of the King.

Jody loved the outdoors and was an avid horsewoman. She loved spending time with her husband and children, but also found time for tennis, piano, walks, and lunch with her LB's (dear Lunch Bunch friends).

Jody was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Bob. She is survived by her four children, Scott, Susan (Richard) Long, Pam (Mark) Landers, and Bob (Robert L., II). Survivors also include her brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Deanie McWhorter, her grandchildren Richard & Margaret, Robert & Megan, JoAnne, Madeline and Charlie. She also leaves loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Jody was a fixture at Trinity-by-the-Cove and will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends, especially her church family. It is impossible to account for all those whose lives she has touched with her open, friendly, loving, comforting, and deeply spiritual approach to life. We thank God for the time He shared her with us. It gives her family great joy to know that Jody and Bob are together again and in the loving presence of our Holy Father.

A Requiem Eucharist will be held at Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church, 553 Galleon Drive on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.

Memorial contributions will be gratefully accepted by Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer's Support Network, 660 Ninth Street North, Naples, FL 34102.

My sincere Condolences to Bobby, Scott, Sue, and Pam and Family for the loss of their beloved Mom, Jody. I have really good memories of time over at their house on Rudder Rd., lots of laughter, Mrs. Tiffany playing piano with me at a band contest. Bobby climbing out of the hospital to play Taps on trumpet at my Dad's send off...Many, many more in this incredible journey. Peace and love with you all in this time. Love, Rick Meadows
