Joe Estrada Obituary

JOE SALAZAR ESTRADA

October 19, 1943 February 10, 2022

Joe Salazar Estrada died unexpectedly on February 10, 2022 at the age of 78. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Joe was born on October 19, 1943, in Gilroy, CA to Jose and Ernestina Estrada. He was the oldest of five children. Joe's family moved to Bakersfield when he was a child. He graduated Bakersfield High School and went on to take engineering and general contracting courses at Bakersfield College. Joe worked in the engineering department at Memorial Hospital for over 40 years before retiring in 2013.

Joe loved to work and be active, always outside working on one project or another. He had a passion for fishing and cars. Joe could fix anything and if he didn't know how he would research until he figured it out.

He was a handsome, charming, kind-hearted, and highly intelligent person who loved his family and friends. He believed in second chances and was always willing to help people in need.

Joe was greeted in heaven by his parents Jose and Ernestina Estrada, his wife Esther Estrada and brother Richard Estrada. He is survived by his daughter Cindy Estrada and husband Martin Hess of Soquel, CA, daughter Yvonne Estrada and husband William Wargo of Lake Isabella, CA, son Joey Estrada and wife Audrea of Bakersfield, CA, his grandchildren Phoebe and Ian Hess, Mackenzy and Zackary Wargo and Joey and Tucker Estrada. He is also survived by his brothers Alfred, Henry, and Alex, and his sister Sylvia, and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that held a special place in his heart.

Joe was a very proud man - proud of his kids and even more proud of his grandkids. He will be missed by many, was loved by all, and will remain in our hearts forever.

Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93306 with a viewing on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral Service to take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 9:00 am. Graveside services will follow.

Some of my best memories of my uncle Joe would be when we would go up to Bass Lake and stay in a cabin with all of the family. You were always so good to my family. You supported us when my mom passed away recently and we will forever be grateful. I´ll never forgot how you and my step dad Joe loved to fish. I will also always remember how you and my Aunt Esther took my brothers to Disneyland when they were little. My brothers will forever hold you in their heart as they were so grateful for an uncle like you! We will miss you dearly Uncle Joe May you Rest In Peace now with my Aunt Esther for eternity! To the family my deepest condolences.
