Papa, thank you for being my Papa! You instilled so many values in each of us, that I am great full as a family through your teachings and words of wisdom we now get to pass that on. I will always cherish the many jokes that we'd share and hearing your laughter with a great big smile. I too will cherish the many walks around the block during Easter and how everyone would fight for your hand from when I was a kid to seeing your great grand children all wanting your love and attention. You will forever be in my heart! I love you papa!

Your energy and love for life was infectious You always made me laugh and you were always positive and encouraging. I will miss you terribly and will forever carry the memories we made in my heart...I love you and I know that your still with us in spirit.

Papa, you were a very good example for us growing up. You worked hard and did the best job you could at anything you did. When we needed something you made sure we got it. You supported and encouraged us in what ever we wanted to do. Most of all you liked to have fun. Dressing up for Halloween and going trick or treating with us was something I will never forget. One of my fondest memories was when you came home from work you came in saying hey, hey, Boo Boo. We were usually watching Yogi Bear on tv. You always made us laugh. Even in your last weeks with us you never lost your sense of humor. When the doctor asked you who I was you were quick to say I was the trouble maker. I will miss you Papa. I love you. Babe

Papa, Just like my Mom so many memories. Here are just a few random thoughts. The art of cleaning all the meat off a bone! Having to share your lap with the other grandchildren, one of us would cry "My Papa". Thank you for the gift of knowledge and love for animals you taught us. I pass what I've learned from you to my children. Looking back I'm very blessed for our large family and the memories

Dad, So many thoughts go through my mind. Memories growing up as a kid you took us to swim lessons,Football games, and lets not forget going to Car Dealerships for free Hot Dogs!(You wanted to check out the new models)As a young adult you took me to the Cosmetology State Board test. You said "Don't worry,if you don't pass we'll do it again." I passed! When I got married you walked me down the Isle. You told me you'd always be there for me if I ever needed to come home that I'd always have a home. When Ron and I bought our first home you where there with us looking for the right one. You where always there for me. The love you gave me you passed down to my kids and their kids. Thank you so much Dad. Always Your Kitten (Linda)

I'll never forget the first time I met Papa Joe and the entire Magana family. It was Easter morning, I wasn't sure what they would think of me and was overwhelmed with how kind and warm they were. I still remember the Easter walk with Papa that day and it was a great conversation we had . . ..one I will never forget . . .and I knew right away what an amazing man this was for the beautiful family he raised.
The Magana family are so close and supportive of one another and that's all due to the legacy Papa and Oma have left upon all of us. He lived an amazing life and accomplished a great deal with his dedication to doing good work and raising a good family. I will always cherish all the Thanksgiving's we shared with you, Oma and my late mother. My mother adored the both of you, and regarded you two as her best friends. Which means the world to me. Thanks, for your acceptance for me and my mother in joining this magnificent family. It was so special to have those memories. I love you, you will be greatly missed Papa Joe.

My Papa and My Oma, the biggest figures I have in my life, you have both inspired me to be a better mom to my children and better wife to my husband. The love that you have for each other is breathtaking and beautiful. I wish to achieve all that you have in your life with making such a wonderful family and such a warm special love you had for each other. Such a lucky family we are. When I look back, I think of rubber duckies and lady bugs. Rubber duckies being my Papa and Lady bugs my Oma, what a cute couple! I still remember the rubber duck I gave to you when I was a little girl. I remember all those times your would call me before the TV show Mork and Mindy came on and you would say "Nano, Nano time!" I loved that. I love those Easter walks, I loved when you were santa and oh how I remember you calling out each of our names as presents were passed about, I still hear your voice calling each of our names. I miss you, I can't wait to hear it again. I can't wait to hug you again. I can't wait to see you again. I love you my Papa

There are so many special memories I have with Papa. I think back to when I was a kid visiting Papa and Oma every Sunday morning before church. We always ate oatmeal but sometimes when we would arrive I would be pleasantly surprised with french toast (my favorite.) I always looked forward to when he would make my sister and I popcorn and root beer floats when we stayed the night. Celebrating Christmas and Easter at Papa & Oma's house were always special times. I'll never forget those Easter walks, and when he would dress up as Santa Claus. I love you and miss you.

Papa was a wonderful man, clearly illustrated by the amazing family he left behind. I am so fortunate to have gotten to know him and benefit from the kindness and generosity of spirit he displayed everyday. I think back fondly of the time we vacationed in Hawaii as a family. David, Harrison, Papa, and I had gone hiking together. As we walked quietly along the trail, out of nowhere, an explosion of sound erupted and awakened the entire rain forest. Papa had sneezed perhaps the loudest sneeze in all of history! Then we all laughed and continued on our way once we realized that no one was in mortal danger of a lion attack, falling tree, spontaneous sinkhole or any number of things that the sound of Papa's sneeze could have really been. Now every time David or I sneeze, particularly if it is a loud one, I think back to that day and laugh. I know now, that it will forever be a sign that Papa is watching over us.

Papa - Thank you for always pushing me in the right direction to be the man that I am and at times you had to do a lot of pushing. But you taught me how important in life to always do the best job you can do. People would tell me, Michael what a great job you do. I would tell the my father taught me to always do your best. Papa I will miss you so much. Love your son

We are ever so grateful to have had such an amazing man in our lives to lead us and guide us. No words can ever express what a legacy our Papa has left behind. You and Oma were always there to support all of us! I will always be "Papa's baby girl!" You are forever in our hearts. Not a day will go by that I will not miss you!

I feel so blessed that Papa was able to be such a large part of my life. I know that so much of the man I am today was shaped by his loving and caring hands. He has given me so much and so many perfect memories. Sharing cheerios at the breakfast table, Easter day walks, and helping him pass out presents on Christmas Eve. I can't put into words how much I will miss Papa. I will always be your Pooper (the nickname he gave to me as a baby because I would hold my poops until I got to his house and either Oma or Papa would have to change my diaper). You carried me in your arms much as a child, I was so honored to be able to carry you to your final resting place as a pallbearer. I will cherish the memories I have of you for my entire life. I love you Papa, so very much.

Thank you!! Thank you for showing me so much love, and teaching me how to be a strong independent woman. I will never forget the wonderful memories that you have blessed me with. From going "fishing" when I had a lose tooth, walking around the block on Easter Sundays waiting for the Easter bunny to visit your house, walking to your work to see the turtles, and (my favorite) hiding in the bathroom when you would comb your hair. You always knew that I was their watching you, talking into the mirror "I'm sooooo good looking." I will miss you everyday, and I look forward to seeing you again when you are standing next to the golden gates waiting for me. I love you with all of my heart.

A special message to my Papa - No words will ever express all that you have meant to me in my life and the part you alone are responsible for in making me the person I am today. Your strength and determination in all you did gave me an example to follow. It made me stronger and more determined to fulfill my own dreams. I will think of you everyday of my life and miss you so much. All my love. Your Doll
