Would like to send condolences to Joe’s son Robert & family. Although we never got to know you Robert, our fathers were fast & lifelong friends who grew up in the village. When my 2 sisters & I were kids, he always visited for Thanksgiving & brought wonderful gifts of music (Beatles & more)& things from world travels. Although no relation, we called him Uncle Joe. We all have gold charm bracelets from Italy that he would give us charms each year. His very own grace & charm always filled the...

I would like to express my sincere condolences to Joe’s friends and family. He was a kind, and caring person devoted to his late wife Betty and his family and friends.

He was an amazing teacher and a wonderful person...always easy to talk to. I had him over 50 years ago at Bronx Science and still remember how much I enjoyed his classes. To this day, I remember his explanation of a split infinitive --- "to boldly go"---. Rest in Peace, Mr. Scavone.
