After a year, what do you think of when you think of Joe Paul? That smile? That laugh? The way he had of making whoever he was talking to feel special? His passion for John H. Reagan High School and its students? His life-long dedication to service of others? For me, it is all these things. He was an inspiration to us all, and we loved him.

Gina Wray and all the Wright family. All our thoughts, prayers and love are with you. Joe Paul was the greatest husband, father and family man I have ever known. Joe Paul was my best friend and fishing buddy in sea isle. A hurricane came in and flooded all of sea isle including JP and Gina Wray home. I came down every weekend to help work on there place. I loved him so much, I bought a house one street over when all the work was done. We will miss him. Rest In Peace, we will see you in heaven

Ginia Wray and family,
Sally and I are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you. Joe Paul was truly one of a kind and we were lucky to have him and the rest of you as very best neighbors during our 19 years in Sea Isle. I think of many great Joe Paul stories but the night that he and I were the only ones around and he invited me to eat dinner with him and watch a basketball game sticks in my mind. He fixed us a tasty mishmash of cabbage, onions, potatoes and sausage in a broth. I took that recipe home and we have eaten it many times since. We call it "Joe Paul food!" Also, many years later, all of us long gone from Sea Isle, with the evening news on TV and my eyes elsewhere, hearing a familiar twangy voice I turn around and sure enough it is Joe Paul being interviewed about an incident in your neighborhood. His 15 seconds of TV fame. He will be sorely missed.
Love from us both, Chris and Sally Stauffer

Here was a man who left his mark on the world, not with money or fame, though he may have had both. His legacy is in all the lives he touched and made better, and the many, many people who loved him and called him their friend. Such a man is rare - and we will all miss him.

Mary Bates - Jim & Sherah's daughter

When I was a small child, I remember Joe Paul & Ginia Wray would come to visit my parents (Jim & Sherah). Joe Paul would pick us up and turn us upside down, so that we could "walk" on the ceiling. We loved it when they came over.
