He came into my thoughts recently so I looked him up on-line, imagining him still happily living and working in Chicago . . .I'm so saddened to learn of his passing. Joel was a kind, generous man whose intellectual curiousity and open-heartedness touched my life.

I'm sitting on Doc Bornstein's memorial bench at the Horner Dog Park. My last name is Ornstein (without the B). I googled to see who Joel was, and got to this page. Anyhow, peace be with y'all. May his memory be a blessing.
