Not sure what to say?

My heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends, and fellow patients of Dr. Kraut. I only just learned today of his passing and was so very surprised and saddened. I have been under his diligent and compassionate care for the many years I've lived in Brookline and will miss my every-4-months visits to him as he carefully monitored my eye problems, taking time to explain things and always with time for a smile, laugh and a joke. He was kindness itself, a wonderful doctor, and the best and most...

I first met Joel at MEEI when I was a staff optometrist with Low Vision Services as 1 of my activities. I rolled a small 4 drawer yellow-enameled cart to wherever we saw Low Vision patients- usually in the Cornea Service. I wore a white lab coat and when I told Joel if he got me a certain white hat I could sell Good Humor ice cream he broke out in paroxysms of laughter. He loved practical jokes, but never to embarass, and had an infectious laugh. Joel had me join him and Dr. Albert Sloane in...

I want to express my deepest sympathies on this sudden and tragic loss. Dr. Kraut has been our family's opthomologist for as long as I can recall. He did one of his first cataract surgeries on my mom in both eyes. He has always made time to see us for any problems. When my mom had a stroke and developed a pain behind her eye, he made time for her to come in immediately. I am shocked and sadened by his passing and wich his family strenth in the said time of loss and pain. Dr. Kraut will be...

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. Kraut. He will be missed not alone for his medical skill, but for his humanity as well.

My deepest sympathy to the Kraut Family. Dr. Kraut has taken care of four generations of our family. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by all.

Our deepest sympathy to Dr. Joel A. Kraut's family. My husband just saw the death notice in the newspaper. I have been a patient of Dr. Joel A. Kraut since a teenager through Dr. Albert Sloane. They were both wonderful doctors. Dr. Kraut has always taken the time to listen and care. I also had the opportunity to volunteer at his Brookline office for a short time before I moved to Florida. I just saw him in June 2004 and we discussed Florida living. I wrote him this past year telling him I had...

Our heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. We heard about Joel's death last evening from our daughter. He was not only a GREAT Opthalmologist but a very human and wonderful person. We will never forget him. It will not be the same to go back to Boston and not see him. Again, our love and condolances to the entire family, and especially to Ellie, whom we do not know, and to David, whom we have seen grow into a very nice young man. Fondly, Betty and Al Marlin

Our deepest condolences in the passing of Dr.Kraut-We have been patients of Dr. Kraut for so many years, it's hard to think of him as our doctor-he was our FRIEND-a warm, compassionate, charming man~and he will be missed terribly.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Dr. Kraut's family.

I met Dr. Kraut for the first time when I was 3 years old. I had to sit on my father's lap for the exam so that Dr. Kraut could see my eyes. I will always be thankful for what he did for me and for so many other people. He truly was a great man and a wonderful doctor.
