Not sure what to say?

Oh my Sir Harry! I was shocked and saddened to hear of Joel's death. Please know that his family will be in my prayers. Such a gentle and kind man had to leave this life so soon. I will never forget you and the fun we had in "Once Upon a Mattress."

My cousin, Joel, has always had a special place in my heart. Four years older and a whole lot cooler than his little country cousin, he always made time to be with me, teaching me to play ping-pong and pool when I had to stand on a chair or stool to get over the table. We shared a love of music and performing and he and Cheryl allowed me to share in their wedding day as their pianist. Joel and I snuck around for weeks working on his surprise love song for Cheryl and were so excited to pull...

Dear
family and friends of Joel,
I was deaply saddened to hear our brother in Christ had passed. Joel
and I were classmates at St. B's and fellow actors in the school plays.
We had many good memories from the days of no worries. Today, as an
adult, life can be perceived much differently. I pray that Joel's
family and friends remember the lessons Jesus has taught us. My sincere
thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is true Joel always had a
smile or smerk on his...

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Obermeier family, his wife and daughters during this very very difficult time.

I remember Joel was a year ahead of me at St. Bernadette's and at St. B's the spring musical we put on directed by Mrs. Larusso was one of the biggest things in our and our families lives at that time. Joel was the big 8th grade leading man with style and grace starring as big "Frank Butler" in "Annie Get Your Gun" who all the girls had a crush on. I was a...

My heartfelt sympathy to Cheryl, Chloe, and Leah. Joel was a kind, wonderful person who will be missed by all that knew him.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY FOR THE OBERMEIER FAMILY. JOEL WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON WHO BRIGHTENED EVERYONES LIVES. I WENT TO MESSMER WITH JOEL, AND HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND WILL BE MISSED.

It is with deep sadness that we send our sympathy to the Obermeier family on the passing of Joel. We remember him as part of our student family, otherwise known as "our extended family" at St. Bernadette School. Our prayers are with you.

Steve and I, Dee and Jessica are deeply saddened by Joel's passing. He was a wonderful, kind-hearted man who we enjoyed having as a neighbor. I remember talking with him shortly after he was diagnosed and was struck by his resolve and feeling of peace, that he was prepared for whatever God had planned for him. On that blustery day in October, standing on Bayview Rd., Joel provided such strength and comfort to me, when I was the one who should have been providing it to him. Cheryl, Chloe and...
