Strunk Funeral Homes and Crematory - Vero Beach Obituary

John Ellsworth Aliyetti passed away on May 26, 2020. He was born December 5, 1934, and spent his childhood and young adult life in Turtle Creek, PA. Although the family lived in poverty, John felt the education he received at Turtle Creek High School was superior to that being offered today...

Not sure what to say?

My name is Lilly Mae Dodd Divens Aston
I grew up next door to the Aliyetti family on Church street, Turtle Creek , PA. No one in our neighborhood was wealthy but we were happy. I remember Johnny had to really beg and plead with his dad to let him play the trumpet. Johnnie was dedicated to that trumpet it was a source of happiness for him. I tried to find the family in past years now that we have cell phones I managed to track Johnny down unfortunately it's too late to speak with him...

Penny, I am so sorry for your loss, our loss. I always thought John was a great guy and I enjoyed very much flying with him. He had a great sense of humor and I will always cherish our visits to your home in Vero Beach. May he rest in peace.

I remember John and Penny well. A great couple flying out of DCA. John was a rare find in the pilot ranks. He was an intellectual, great aviator, talented musician and fun to fly with. I am very sorry for your loss Penny. Semper Fi !

So sorry for your loss Penny. John and I were in the same new hire class . HE was just two numbers junior to me. RIP!

I always enjoyed flying with John. He was humorous and a pleasant fellow. Sorry for your loss Penny.

John was one of the good ones, Penny. May he soar with the angels and Rest In Peace.
Fondly,
Chris Moreno

Our hearts hurt. John was a man who made you feel that you were so important in the room. He was so quick with a funny line, and so ready to make you feel comfortable in who you were. This is a sad day for us, and a good day for Heaven.

We flew together, we sailed together, we partied together, and we played chess together. Many good memories with John

Dear Penny and Family:
We are sad to learn about John's passing. He was a good guy with high personal standards, if a little (amusingly) judgmental. We played golf, swapped Marine Corps and dog stories. I saw him last, in November, at a Marine Corps birthday lunch. We promised to get together but sadly didn't manage to do that before this. We'll miss you John.
