Remembering the impressive and insightful lessons in our Humanities class; venturing on a class trip to the Dallas Museum of Art for the exhibit of Pompeii AD 79; and investigating distinctive religions [B'nai Zion Congregation, St. George Greek Orthodox Church, etc.] in Shreveport...

I will miss my friend, John Worthington Baldwin, who was also at various times my student, co-worker, confidant, and comrade in the struggle for social justice. In his early childhood in Bernice he and his admirable family were also my next-door neighbors. You are gone, John, but not forgotten.

Yes, he did fight a good fight throughout the course of his life. So much thanks to him and Marilyn that I chose a wonderful career which has taken me around the globe. I still reap the rewards of that choice today.

I am so blessed to have known this truly amazing man. To many of us he was our teacher, leader, father figure and a perfect mentor. I was amazed by his love for Art, which lead to me find my own passion for art through photography. While attending college at L.A. Tech, I received a post card featuring the “Chateau royal de Neuscwanstein” castle from Dr. Baldwin after he had toured seven castles in three days. I still have that post card. His passion for traveling and seeing the beauty...
