There was a glorious reunion in heaven when John B. Bartlett completed his earthly journey June 10, 2018 and was ushered into the presence of his Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ. The words to Dr. Bartlett's favorite gospel song, "Jesus Paid It All", summarize his life's ambition, "Jesus paid it...

Not sure what to say?

My wife, Sanga, and I will always cherish our memories of Uncle John and Aunt Ruth, their optimism and generosity of spirit. Uncle John was an engaging raconteur, brimming with memories and tales of his latest forays to the Holy Land, Europe, and elsewhere. Although our paths did not cross for many years, I know that we can pick up immediately where we left off. We're confident we'll have that opportunity when we cross over the Jordan in the sweet by and by. To Cindy and Jen, you were...

I first met the Barletts when I was a little girl and my dad was a student at Bryan. They were so elegant but so very nice to a little kid. Later when my dad was head of Buildings and Grounds at Bryan I remember he had some plants to take out to their gorgeous home in Edgewater. Dr. Bartlett told me to go into the kitchen and his wife gave me icecream in a pretty bowl!
I later had Dr. Bartlett for Fine Arts in my own years at Bryan and it made a huge impact on my life.
The...

My dad, Harry Hoffman, studied under the Bartletts at BJU and traveled with them on the quartet team. I was blessed to know them at Bryan College. They were a wonderful couple, so kind and encouraging. I still use the little hand-me-over silver candy dish they gave me as a wedding present. May many warm memories and God's peace enfold you in your loss, but Heaven's gain.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. I had Dr. Bartlet in speech class my freshman year, and he literally changed my life. Also spent some time with them during the summers I stayed in Dayton. Such a wonderful man.

I always look for the Bartletts when I returned to Bryan. I will truly miss him. John took me and several others to Europe. I treasure that trip and the memories of him.
Ruth would always call me Martie.
I will miss booths of them and John carrying his wife's purse.
I'm sure they ate singing for the Lord.

We loved John and Ruth who were some of the first people we met at Bryan College. They were always so gracious and supportive. They are dearly missed.

Cindy and Jennifer...I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Your parents were always so gracious towards my parents. I always enjoyed going to your Edgewater house to visit. If you're ever here in Dayton or coming this way, I would love to see you. 4239917676 cell phone

Girls, we are so sorry for your loss. Dr. John and Ruth were dear friends from their days at Bryan College. (In fact, I work in a balcony office now in the Music Department and often go into your mom's old office..she herself left a great legacy!) Dr. John hired my husband at Bryan College in January of 1977 before Phil ever graduated from Southern Cal. We have enjoyed and loved Bryan College all of these years, and our four daughters all went here for their education. The Bartletts...

RIP my friend, Dr. John Bartlett. The kindness extended to me and to our family by you and your dear Ruth will never be forgotten.
