Read MoreI just found out about John Henry's passing. RIP John. I still remember the good times him and my dad Jack Bower use to have. Two good friends having a great time. I still have the 3 baseballs John gave me for pitching no hitters in games he umpired. Thanks John from us ex little leaguers that had the pleasure of you umpiring our games! I'm so sorry I am just hearing of John Henry's passing and am broken hearted. I have so many wonderful memories of John Henry and my Dad, Jimmie Dale umpiring together and their friendship. I also have amazing memories of John and Maryann! They were both the best! Please tell Daddy I said hi as you challenge him to a game of pool in heaven!! ❤❤

I just became aware of John Henry's passing. My deepest sympathies to his family.
He was a mentor to me as a young man, especially teaching me how to be an umpire in a professional manner. I have never forgotten those examples and they are part of me today. I have passed those along to other young men over the years.
