Not sure what to say?

John is my uncle and the last of that generation of Borcherding my mom was married to his brother Christian. Although they moved away when I was young I still have fond memories of he and my Aunt Jean. Rest in peace and I hope I live till I'm 95.

For sure my Uncle Fred was a great story teller...to this day I still remember my uncle (while a San Mateo policeman) telling me and my other cousins, about the time he was almost killed by a bullet that went right through his police hat brim, narrowly missing his head! He had the hat as proof of that harrowing event. God bless you Uncle Fred and may you now rest in peace with your wife and my Aunt Jean. Love, your Nephew Michael

Although I have never met John, as a member of the San Mateo Police Department I an proud and honored to call John my brother. It sounds like John lived a long and fulfilling life. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Detective Sergeant Al Baccei
San Mateo Police Department

Although I did not know John, I can tell by reading this guest book how much he was loved and how he lived such a full life. I work for the San Mateo Police Department and have been here since 1986. I love hearing stories about the veteran officers and their quests to find the bad guys. I am sure that John was one of those officers. I am praying for the family and friends of this gentleman during this difficult time. "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure". RIP...

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
