Not sure what to say?

John Boyd with the greatest art teacher I've ever had, At WSU I stayed going to school there for a year and a half just to take his class and make awesome Work, I have one of his pieces and it hangs in my Living room, Anyone and everyone who met him was blessed to know him!!!!

He was a great grandpa, and father...he will be missed, but his kids and grand kids will ALWAYS rememeber him.

Dear Lorraine and Family,

I was so saddened to hear of John's passing. He made such a profound impression on EC and his art career, and I'm sure many, many other students over the years. He was a sweet and interesting man - we enjoyed having him as our guest when he came to Denver to do a visiting artist workshop for EC at Metro State. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Lorraine and Family,
We shared an office at WSU in 1973,,,John, Steve Berman and myself (all new art instructors). As a sabbatical replacement for John Fincher, I was only there a year, but I've carried, for nearly forty years, memories of that year of getting to know John and Steve as friends and colleagues. An accomplished artist/printmaker, John's memory will live on through his art and the people that he touched in this life. Tears and Happiness to you all. Steve Scott

Although we never met you, I will always miss John at the Bullet Stop, he and I spoke together often, and I will always keep him in my mind and thoughts, he was a PRINCE among us and all of those in the league will miss him.

Dear Lorrain, Aaron, Alice and Sarah,
I am so sorry for your loss. We will miss John. He was a great friend. We are thankful to have known him, and to have been inspired by his art!

Lorraine,

John is and will remain so very fondly in our hearts and minds even after all these years away from Wichita. He was one of the most straight-forward people I've ever known and I enjoyed arguing with him almost as much as agreeing with him. And I always valued his insights, not to mention his provocative art, two of which still hang in our home. May your sadness be lightened by his life so fully lived and by the knowledge of the many lives he has touched.

John was a wickedly creatively artist, a kind and gentle soul, a mentor and friend to his many students, and a delight to his family. It was only last week that I told someone about our impromptu bowling “Holy Roller Team” of the late ‘70's, comprised of a few art students and John, gathered at the WSU student center on occasional Fridays, which we jokingly referred to as Bowling for Grades. I was a pleasure to know him during the last 32 years .

I was touched that he and Lorraine...

Lorraine and family, my parents, Eugene and Alma McDonald, were very interested in you and always spoke highly of you. I'm sure they would want me to send our sympathy's for your loss. Linda McDonald Ivy and the McDonald family.
