Dear Peter and Tom and family: I am deeply saddened by the passing of your dad, who I know as Judge Brennan. As an attorney practicing in Hartford family court, I saw Judge Brennan on a regular basis. He was kind, funny, wise and compassionate. He was with us for so, so long (until age 93!) that I, for one, thought he would always be there! Judge Brennan delighted in the fact that I was born and raised in East Hartford, and he always called me to the bench to inquire after my parents. A light has gone out on "Washington Street", which will never be replaced. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Appearing in front of Judge Brennan was an honor. His wit, sensitivity and devotion provided a sense of dignity to both clients and lawyers. He always remembered one case in particular every time I saw him and would ask how the parties were doing even though it was 10 years after the trial. He was a wonderful man.
