JOHN BUDIN Obituary

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - John Budin, 90, was born July 14, 1923 in Chicago to the late John and Katherine (nee Demcio) Budin and passed away March 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. John was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served in the South Pacific during World War II. During his retirement, John became very active in supporting the Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health and enjoyed serving on the annual golf outing committee. John also volunteered for the Northwest Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) and was a former president of the Arlington Heights chapter. He loved big band music and was especially fond of the Glenn Miller orchestra. John was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (nee Gibbons); loving father of Anne C. Budin, John J. Budin, Maria B. (Anthony M.D.) Marchlewski, Paul M. (Ann Dwyer) Budin and Katherine M. "Kate" (Mark) Delph; cherished grandfather of Thomas, Christopher, Anthony, Mary, Clare, Sean and Nicholas; dear brother of Mary Anne Leonard and fond uncle of Ross Leonard and Tracy (Liam) O'Dwyer. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 3:00 PM-8:30 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 8:45 AM at the funeral home and proceed to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell Street, Arlington Heights for funeral mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health, 3436 N. Kennicott Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Our prayers are being sent to the entire family. It was so nice to see John, Pat, Mary Anne and Emily last summer. Cousin John was always so pleasant to be around. As my mother said, 'Junior', as she called him, will be missed. God Bless.
