John was my immediate neighbor in Mountaindale since 1983. We were the best of friends! He loved Mountaindale and his neighbors as we loved him! His collection of quartz rocks and various woodsy things were constantly added to from his exploring our little piece of Catoctin Mountain Heaven. John also was a wealth of knowledge about the history of Mountaindale early on in our friendship he presented me an arial framed photo of the CCC camp that encompassed the area where our present day cabins...
