Not sure what to say?

I learned today from my good friend Todd Giesler that John had passed away and surprised he did not see me this Sunday. I met John and Karola at Carpenters Florist years ago. I came every Sunday to buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our coffee table. It wasn´t long though that I was coming to be inspired by John´s presence. I fell in love with both John and Karol´s. Steve and I were invited to their dreamy home in the Northend for an incredible pouched salmon dinner. My Steve...

John was a dear friend and we shared so many special times together. Not only was he kind and thoughtful but compassionate and caring. We will miss him dearly and Wayne and I will always hold a special place in our hearts for him.

I remember my uncle as the true essence of kindness. Aways ready to listen and give a word of encouragement even to a loudmouth teen like me. He will be missed. I wish we could have talked again one last time.

John became a dear friend of ours, joining a small group of friends for dinners and gatherings especially when the legislature was in session in the 80´s and 90´s! This was separate and apart from his wonderful artistry as a florist and tremendous generosity! We will miss him.

John was a jolly and immensely talented man with a wry sense of humor and a warm greeting every time I was served by him at Edwards Greenhouse. Bethine Church was a long-time client of John´s and introduced us to him when we first moved to Boise in 2003. From that moment on, we knew we could depend on him for beautiful floral arrangements for personal use or for special events in the community. He was truly a master and a lovely man.

John did not mention that he and Karola served as counselors for a church youth group in the mid- to late '60's. They were a great and wonderful influence in many teens' lives. We knew of his work with flowers and plants, but we experienced his humor and strength and presence almost weekly, in many different settings, over the span of many years. He and by brother Kent became especially close. When Kent and Pam were married in 1971 in Wausau, Wisconsin, John rode with my parents from Boise...

John went with us to Stanley and Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch to help provide a gloriously beautiful wedding setting for our daughter, Angie, and Mike Devitt. Everything he did was with love and a desire to make one's occasion unique and special. Being with him warmed your heart. Our community has lost a truly remarkable man.

I didn't know you but a wonderful life you lived. I'm sure you knew my cousins John and Everett McCuan and their family in Payette and Emmett doing similar jobs. Rest in peace flower man. Suzy Kerr

So much love to you girls, and so many others in John´s family. He was a rock in his own kind way with his warm smile and amazing memory for knowing everyone´s names and stories. He spoke so fondly of family, and friends. Boise has been blessed by the beauty he created for all of us, with his generous heart and in every special celebration he made magical. Peace to you John.
