I am grateful for the wisdom, love, and patience John showed to those who crossed his path. He had a great wit and liked to laugh. He frequently spoke of his love for Patty and all of his girls. He made a positive impact on many people, and I will miss not seeing him.

I knew Nesbit & Minerva when I was a child in the late `40s. Then knew John when he was a communicant of Prince George Church, in Georgetown. My condolences to John´s family.

I had the privilege of knowing John when he found recovery in Georgetown. He was a good man and always had a wonderful way of making others happy when they were with him. John and I shared one exceptional moment in that we were together at the detention center to see a client when we learned that the World Trade Centers had been hit been hit. Sending sincere condolences to Patty and the girls.

Patty, it was a true privilege to get to know John. I loved his stories and his passion for life. Above all else, I love the love you had for each other. It was a precious thing to be in the presence of. My heart goes out to you, the girls, and the grandchildren. I am sending you all an abundance of love and praying for you all.

My dear friend John: It was a sincere privilege to be your neighbor in Lexington. Thank you for the many years of friendship and the great conversations. I will never forget the times you and I used that (it seemed like) 1000 lb grass aerator in our yards. Each and every day, you made the lives of the Torbett family that much better. Thank you, God bless you and your wonderful family. Until we meet again my friend... Shawn
