To the Chase Family: It's been a long time since I saw Mr. Chase. As a student(coming from a small town of Seguin, Texas) at Texas Southern Univeristy/School of Business in the 1960's, I worked as a work study student under Dr. Milton Wilson, Dean of the School. Dr. Wilson introduced me to Mr. Chase as a student who needed to earn extra income to pay for college expenses. It was during that time that Mr. Chase hired me to work as a student admin. intern in his office. I was so impressed...

He will be missed by all of us and his life and contributions...

My sincere condolences to the John Chase Family. He was an extraordinary individual who did a great deal for the community and Houston as a whole. In 1994, when I applied to attend the University of Texas School of Law, I was privileged to have received a letter of recommendation from Mr. Chase. This is a great loss for Houston. My prayers are with the Chase Family.

Drucie, my sincerest condolences to you and your family. At the service I was reminded of what a kind and generous person your husband was when I remembered a time maybe 30 years ago when I first moved back from England and wanted to be an interior designer. I had no training or skills but I just walked into John's office (because I knew he was a family friend) and said I want to be an interior designer! He was so kind. He didn't laugh at me or make me feel silly, he sat down and talked...
