Sleep well, dear Fr. John...You have done well, worked hard, spread your love, warmth, sparkle, and smiles each day of your life...Your time at OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL CHURCH AND PARISH WAS A MEMORABLE ONE ...I HAD JUST MOVED TO MILL VALLEY and your kindness and friendship were most appreciated... When I asked if you would visit a friend of mine who was dying of breast cancer in 2001, you asked for her address and immediately went to her home and visited her for almost two hours...She was sooo...

Rest in peace...you were a gentle giant. Will miss you...

Father had very unique way of greeting you.
He'd come up to you and say "Greetings".
I know when he was reunited with our Lord God must have reached out and said "Greetings"
God Bless you Father!

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Fr. John. His death leaves a heartache no one can heal yet he leaves memories no one can steal. Fr. John came into our lives leaving great footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. May he rest in peace.

My Family and I send our condolences to the Family of Father John Cloherty.

Father John grew up with my Step-Father in the Sunset and were lifelong friends. Father John also married my wife and I at St.Pauls Church in San Francisco many years ago.

When my wife and I initially had an appointment to meet with Father John, the office staff couldn't find him.

I decided to walk around the backside of the church and office only to find Father John playing basketball with one of...

FrJohn...."Big John"....was a whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm....such a good man always working for the good of the church and it's people...You will be sorely missed...but well remembered...
