John Grimes ÒJ.G.Ó DeLoach, Sr. February 28, 1914- January 20, 2008 COLUMBUS, GA— John Grimes ÒJ.G.Ó DeLoach, Sr, 93, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, January 20, 2008 in the Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Wynnbrook Baptist Church with Dr. Brad Hicks officiating with a private burial in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler Ð Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road. Honorary pallbearers are members of Muscogee Civitian Club, Adult 6 Men's Sunday School Class and members of Retired Railroad Employees Club. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. DeLoach was born February 28, 1914 in Statesboro, GA the son of the late Leffler and Vanissa Jones DeLoach. He attended Oglethorpe University and has lived in Columbus since 1936. He retired as an engineer from Norfolk Southern Railroad after forty seven years of service. He also retired from Hamilton Hardware after eighteen years of service. Mr. DeLoach was a deacon and member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church, member of Adult 6 Men's Sunday School Class, Muscogee Civitian Club, and Retired Railroad Employees Club. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Ann DeLoach. Survivors include his wife of sixty six years, Ann Cannon DeLoach; one daughter, Debbie DeLoach Leonard and her husband, Jimmy of Fortson; one son, John G. DeLoach, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren, John G. Deloach, III and his wife, Amy, Susan DeLoach Schrems and her husband, Bill, Joshua Cannon DeLoach and his wife, Mallory, David A. DeLoach, Zachary H. DeLoach, Ashley Leonard Brown and her husband, Paul, April Leonard Miller and her husband, Bill; seven great-grandchildren, Madilen DeLoach, Conner Schrems, Brenton Kirby, Caleb DeLoach, Braydon Brown, Benjamin DeLoach and Grady Miller. A special thanks to Dr. Scott Womble and Kim Mitchell. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wynnbrook Baptist Church.
