John Dent Obituary
Born in Musella, Ga., he lived in this community since 1943. He participated in the Joy Park Block Club serving as treasure for several years. He was employed by Firestone Tire & Rubber Company for 37 years and retired in 1980. He became a member of St. John CME Church in 1944. He was father of the church serving in the chancel choir and male choirs, the stewart board and was a class leader. He attended Sunday School faithfully while his health allowed.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mae Ola, son, John W. Jr., three brothers and five sisters. He is survived by daughters, Maple Carter, Lela (Pastor Robert) Hollinger, Elizabeth Dent and Lizzie (George) Greene; son, John (Ruth) Dent; brother, Joseph (Luciel) Dent, all of Akron; sisters-in-law, Harristene (Peggy) Dent of North Carolina, Johnnie Mae (Willie) Wright of Georgia; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren; very special friend, Alonzo Alexander; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Summa Hospice, Summa Health, and Essex Health Care of Tallmadge.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 12 noon at St. John CME Church, 1233 S. Hawkins Ave. with Pastor Richard McDuffie officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1499 Malasia Rd., 44305. Sitting at church, I would stare at your name on the list of those sick and wonder about you. I've been kicking myself for us not visiting you. I wasn't sure you would remember us because I didn't know how alert you were. Well "great grandpa," even though we just sat next to one another at church, and just talked then, it hurts us very much to know your gone. The third pew, right side will still be "our seat." I know you will be with me and my daughter on Sundays which makes me smile. We absolutely will not forget u... Please God, help his family and friends breathe through the pain they feel and tears that they drop...

SOMEDAY
You sit and hold HIS picture as HE looked long ago, you look and wonder how he would look if he were here today. LORD ALMIGHTY AND THE ELECT ONE had him in his plans that day. He was lifted up from your arms. But still as the days go by, passing by, your eyes keep searching everywhere. Your heart is still broken as it was the other day, and though those days have passed and gone you'll LOVE HIM each and every day. And if the LORD ALMIGHTY AND THE ELECT ONE gave you one wish you would not think, not for one second you would ask to see His face, your Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Grandfather.
