John Devoti Obituary
AGE: 93 • Lakewood
John Charles Devoti, 93, of Lakewood, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brick. Born in New Haven, Conn., Mr. Devoti was a resident of Martinsville, NJ for 40 years before moving to Lakewood 20 years ago. John was a former chemist for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. John was a member of the Leisure Village Kiwanis Club.
He survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Maria (Farinella) Devoti; two sons, John and Daniel; and two grandchildren, Anastasia and Charisse. He was predeceased in 1987 by his first wife of 40 years, Margaret (Barna) Devoti.
Private arrangements and burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, and are under the direction of the D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Fl., New York, NY 10001.
