You were such a good kind man. I am fortunate to have spent so many wonderful summers with you. We all miss you, John.

I miss John every day-- too soon

I think of you John and to just repeat what I signed before - you are missed. A kind and wonderful gentleman and friend. I am sure I speak for many. Rest in peace. Jeff Sherman

I am so sad to hear that John passed away. We shared many wonderful years with friends in our Hampton house. John was a gentleman and a great tennis player. He knew everything about opera and baseball. He was a night owl and extremely kind. They don't raise men like John anymore. Rest in peace dear friend.

I just heard that John had passed away. I was a member of the same summer house in the Hamptons for a number of years. He was a fine gentleman who was kind and generous of spirit. He was also a tremendous tennis player and he loved his New York Times. I have not seen him in a number of years but to hear of his loss truly saddens me. Rest in Peace my dear friend.

Our community has lost a most gracious gentleman and scholar whose warm wit and charm was rare, fine and most singular in nature. The comfort that came from his smiling presence in a room will be sorely missed.

John was a loving, caring friend. You are missed by every one that you touched. You are loved for eternity.
