Not sure what to say?

John was a work colleague for a brief two years and a friend for many years after that. His friendship transcended the sorts of the things that drive people apart today. We would attend minor league baseball games and college basketball games where we would argue bitterly about the law or politics. David, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. You and the family are in my thoughts.

David, so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
